This Privacy Policy describes how Better MyEd ("the Extension") handles information when you use the browser extension.

        The Short Version: Better MyEd does not collect, store,
        or transmit any of your personal data, school records, or login
        credentials. Everything happens locally on your computer.
      

1. Information We Collect

The Extension does not collect any personal information. We do not have servers, and we do not track your browsing history, your MyEducation BC credentials, or any student data.

2. Use of Permissions

To provide its features, the Extension requires certain browser permissions. Here is exactly why we use them:

Storage: Used solely to remember if you have turned the "Better Attendance" feature ON or OFF so you don't have to click it every time you visit the site.
Scripting & Host Permissions: Used to reformat the tables and layout of the MyEducation BC portal. These permissions allow the extension to inject CSS and JavaScript into the page to improve visual accessibility.
activeTab: Used to immediately apply layout changes to the current page when you interact with the extension's popup menu.

3. Data Security

Since the Extension does not collect or transmit data, your information remains exactly where it belongs: within the secure MyEducation BC environment and your own browser. No third parties ever have access to your data through this Extension.

4. Third-Party Services

The Extension does not use third-party analytics (like Google Analytics) or any other tracking software. It is a "stateless" tool designed for layout improvement only.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
